According to her obiturary, Winnie was left homeless at an early age and she was given a home by Alexander Reed and his wife of Washington Twp., Jackson Co., IA, where she grew to womanhood. It was in this home that she married Perry Lamborn. A pall bearer at her funeral included a John Callahan.

Farmington News-Republican March 1910 - - George Totten, a well known farmer of this vicinity twelve years ago, has taken possession of what is known as the old Tharp place, on a five year lease. (Came to VBC in 1898 then?) However, he had children born in Illinois up until 1906.
