Winnie's last name was spelled at various times Cahalan, Calhoun and Callahan.
According to her obiturary, Winnie was left homeless at an early age and she was given a home by Alexander Reed and his wife of Washington Twp., Jackson Co., IA, where she grew to womanhood. It was in this home that she married Perry Lamborn. A pall bearer at her funeral included a John Callahan.
