I have Phillip as a probable son of Josiah. Since no will was ever
found for Josiah, there is little proof. However, Phillip lived next to
Josiah and purchased his land from Josiah. This was a tradition of his
father John who sold essentially all of his land to his children prior to his
death.
Phillip (b. abt 1770 - d. aft
1829) m. Talitha (???). They had 5 children that I know of. If you would be
interested in a file of their descendants that I have, drop me a not and I
will be glad to send it to you.
Incidently, Josiah was probably born
about 1747. When he took the Oath of Allegience in Henry Co., VA on 13 Sep
1777; he gave his age as 30 years old.

Josiah Kerby and Anne Windle. Josiah
had a younger brother that was named Jesse. Josiah
had a daughter Sarah E. Kirby that married George Washington Crawford in
1791 in VA. Josiah's parents were John Kearby and
Joanna Owens both from VA. I am interested in finding Sarah E.'s siblings. I
have more info on family and will gladly exchange.

Rhonda I am a descendent of Josiah Kerby and Anne
Windle. Josiah and his brothers changed name from
Kerby to Kirby, while their father spelled it Kearby. Hope this helps, I

According to my records, Josiah had a son named Philip
(b. 1765). They both appear in the Surry Co., NC 1790 census. Philip was
married to Talitha (Tabitha?) Witcher and was the father of Jesse
(1/7/1802 - 8/30/1852), Samuel (b. 1800) Juda, Sarah (b. abt. 1804) and
Joel (b. 3/7/1804). Jesse was my gggg grandfather. Have more up and down
this line if you're interested.
Josiah Kerby, son of John and Joannah Owen
Kerby, was born 1747, probably in Virginia. He married Anne Windle ca
1768. Their daughter, Sarah Kerby was born ca 1775 in Virginia,
according to census records. Sarah married George W. Crawford ca 1792 in
either North or South Carolina, and after George's death, she married
Thomas McClure in Macon County, North Carolina, 1832.
