There are two links: one to the gedcom file, and another to a "self extracting zip file". The gedcom is a text file in the format developed by the Latter Day Saints(LDS), of my Higbie data. It is about 900kbytes. Most( I don't know of any that can't) genealogy programs will read and write( import and export) a gedcom file. The zip file is a compressed version of the same data. It is only 180kbytes; however, you must run the program after you download it to extract the gedcom file. Since putting the data on this web site makes it public information, I have removed most of the data about living people.

In most browsers, you can start a download by right clicking on the link and choosing to save as or copy the file. If you left click on the link, some browsers will open the file. It this happens, left click on the text( it will look like someone couldn't type) and choose "save as".
