Comments: The name Tobias drew me to your site. My Grandfather Isaac Martin Snyder, Williamson Co. IL went by the "nickname" Tobias or Tobe. I have always wondered where that originated. I have been unable to connect my IL Snyders outside that state even though family tradition says they migrated from PA to IL in a covered wagon. I do know that some of the later generations ended up in Arkansas. My earliest Snyder is Solomon Snyder ca B:1779 D: 1845 married Mary Poly Smith. suspect this Jacob Young was husband of her sister but can't find the

check it out. He was dead by the time Mary Catherine was 1 because
Susannah was listed as widow on the Indiana Co.census.
My sister recently recieved a book on David Hawk line in the mail
because a picture of her house is in it.(one of Susannah's nephew's built
her house and another built her daughter's house,next door.) She did not
realize the relationship. I was very excited.
There is a picture of my great grandfather's sister in the book. That is
as close as I have gotten to a picture of him.

website thru a sudscription to the message board postings at Rootsweb I
believe. Anyway I took a quick look and it is very interesting. I intend
to come back to the page and spend some time chacking it out better when
I have more time. I have been up against a wall with a John Black (my
great great grandfather) who lived in Virginia in the late 1700's. He was
married to a Mary (maiden name unkown) and they had 2 children named
George and Elizabeth. John was killed accidentally while hunting
supposedly and Mary and the 2 small children came to a place called
"Little Trammel Creek" right on the KY/TN border and settled
around 1798. There is a story called the "Black's of Little
Trammel" on the Sumner Co. TN webpage which is where I got this
information. He is also called Jack in some places. As a matter of fact
this is all the information I have on them. Any help at all would be
great.
