BRIGGS, Isabel [12365] ¹

   Cause of her death was Pneumonia.

   Another name for Isabel was BRIGGS, Izzie.

In Scotland was an apprentice in a tailor shop.

In 1925, Aunt Marge's baby, June Bertolet, contracted infant diarrhea, and it was not certain she would live. At the same time, her cousin Isabel, about the same age, also contracted the disease, and died of it. Aunt Marge was very close to her sister Isabel, and felt especially bad about the death of Isabel's child. Isabel died a few years later of pneumonia.

Mary Briggs Carter suggests that Isabel died in childbirth. It would require a death certificate and a check for an infant death at the same time to verify this.

When Isabel died, the rest the Briggs family were quick to reach out to the children. I remember them visiting relatives in Detroit: at our house, at Aunt Marge and Uncle Bert's, and also with Uncle Tom.
