[1393] In about 1905 Joe went to Alaska to survey possible railroad routes to the copper fields. Returned to Tintah in 1908. in the srping of 1909, because he heard land was openning up, he went to Montana and file a homestead in Fresno. He built a crude house and dug a well before returning to Tintah to work. Returned to Fresno in 1910. In the spring of 1923, they relocated to Bear Paw Mountains outside of Harve, due to a prolonged period of dry weather. joe had sheep, cattle and crops.
[1394] Joe disappeared on a trip to town on Nov 1, 1956. he suffered from dementia (probably Alzhiemer's Disease). he was found March 17, 1957 in a pond and buried at Calvary Cemetery in Harve on March 19, 1957.
