[107] George Anton Balza was born the thrid son of Theophile Joseph Balza and Mathilda Finendael, in Duval, Door county, Wisconsin, on 17 December, 1910. Armed with an 8th grade education, George farmed and married Martha DeGrave on 28 August 1935. After their marriage they dairy farmed in Brown County.
[108] Martha died 28 January of 1937, after which George married Florence Dennis May 24th, 1939, they bought another farm in the town of Eaton. George and Florencee had four girls: Mary Ann born April 20th, 1940; Joanne born October 24th, 1943; Elaine born August 18th, 1946; and Jane born April 18th, 1951.
[109] George was a carpenter on the side, building and maintaining houses as a private contractor. He retired from the farm in 1971.

[111] George A. Balza 88, Town of Eaton, died Friday April 16, 1999, at a local nursing home. He was born Dec 17, 1910, in Duvall to the late Theophile and Mathilda (Finnendale) Balza. George married the former Martha DeGrave on Aug 28, 1935, she preceeded him in death Jan 28, 1937. He then married the former Florence Denis, May 24, 1939 at St. Mary Church in Humboldt. George and Florence owned and operated a dairy farm in Eaton until his retirement in 1971. He was also known for his skills in the field of carpentery and masonry. For many years George fixed or remodeled homes and barns. George was a Brown County 4-H leader for 32 years and was a regular attendee at the Chambers Island Retreat House. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Platta Council #4735. George was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.
[112] He is survived by his wife, Florence; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Daniel Kaminski, Denmark; Joann and Harold Vander Loop, Denmark; Elaine and Dale Gauthier, West Bend; Jane and Albert Horvath, Dallas, WI; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three half brothers, Donald Balza, Pound; Tony and Grace Balza, Appleton; Firman and Nathalie Balza, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
[113] He was preceeded in death by one grandson, Joseph Gauthier, four brothers, Henry, Bill, Goldie, and Gordon Balza; three stepbrothers Frank Massey, Clarence Boncher, and Norbert Boncher.
[114] Friend may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday until the funeral cortege leaves for chruch. Knights of Columbus Memorial service 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Parish Wake Service 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Pine Grove, with the Rev. Ralph Merkatoris officating. Burial in the Allouez Cemetery.
