[134] Clarence was born in Sugar Bush, Brown county Wisconsin on October 4th, 1913 the second son of Joesph and Mary Louise (Leurquin) Massey. The Boncher surname was adopted from Joseph's mother's family.
[135] Clarence was a time-keeper for the WPA, and married and had three children before moving to California in 1942 (at the same time that his brother Norbert was recalled into the Army) were he went to work for General Electric as a tool and die maker. Early in his career with G.E. he had slipped on a floor and dislocated his hip. The doctors never replaced the hip in the socket and it eventually caused the hip to disintegrate, forcing Clarence to have a hip replacement. Clarence became a member of the Church of Scientology. He rretired from G.E and spent his time sailing and repairing dairy equipment. He eventually became a minister and therapist helping young people. For many years he lived on Skyline Boulivard outside of Los Gatos. He is immortalized in the song "Clarence" by David Pommerance.
[136] On July 23, 1996 he took his own life by shooting himself with his shotgun.
[137] Obituary - Boncher, Clarence.
