[3132] NAME: daughter Annie Rachor's Death Certif (RAC DEA 006) says father, Jake Post. Could be POSS/POSZ rather than POST. See St. Paul Archives Baptism records of grandchildren listing Anna POSS as mother and Peter POSZ as sponsor for Henry Rachor's baby, Diana Hone file (RAC BIR 006). Peter Poss is also listed as a founder of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church born 1830 Germany, Diana Hone file (M HIST 006). Peter Poss family is on census in the Belle Plaine area. LaNaye Hennen, descendant of Mathias Poss, brother to Anna and Peter, has family records for Jacob Poss family. She knows of their whereabouts in Wisconsin where Jacob and Mathias lived and died. Some of the IGI records she used to put this family together spell the surname POSS, POOS, POS. They list Jacob as Jacobi and Susanna as Susannae when listed as parents. **I asked LaNaye how she KNEW Mathias mother's name: She has a photograph of Mathias & Jacob's graves in Brighton, WI. The relative who had the picture also had a picture of Mathias' baptismal record in Fleissem which is written in Latin. When LaNaye saw the "baptismal record" she realized it was a "marriage record" for Mathias and it listed his parents as Jacob Poss & Susanna Lingen (See Mathias' notes for transcript). These were the names LaNaye had found on the IGI in Fleissem, so she put the family together. LaNaye also has a copy of Jacob's marriage to Susanna which lists his parents names. LaNaye also has a copy of a "mini biography" contributed to Wisconsin Historical Society by Mrs. Charles Jackley (Mathias' dau) which states they came into New York in 1857, stopped for a short time in Chicago and ended up in Brighton, Kenosha, Wisconsin.
