[486] Obituary - Eleanor C. Balza - Green Bay Press-Gazette September 16 1994
[487] Eleanor C. Balza, 80, Northview Rd., Humboldt, died Wednesday, September 14, 1994 at her home after a five year battle with heart disease. She was born October 27, 1913 in the town of Humboldt to the late Bert and Louise (Mercier) Rickel, Eleanor married Goldie Balza May 9, 1934 at St. Mary's Church in Humboldt. He preceeded her in death in 1985. Eleanor and Goldie worked toogether to build and operate a dairy farm on Finger Road for 35 years, retiring in 1967. Mrs Balza was a member of Holy Martyr's Parish for 60 years.
[488] Survivors include her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law and their family whose help allowed her to remain in her own home until her death, Larry and Janet Balza, Green Bay; Eric Balza, town of Ledgeview; Jessica and Evan Balza, at home; her loving aand devoted daughter and son-in-law and their family who always managed to come home to help whenever Mom needed extra care, especially the past month, Beeeverly and William Naniot, Moville Iowa; Gail and Nick PLavets and sons Paul and Will, Syracuse, Ind; Llana and Steve Bennett and daughters Erin, and Emily, Montour, Iowa; Dustin, Louis, Ben and Zachary Naniot, Toledo, Iowa; two sisters, Edna Schroeder and her family; and Ruby Van Ess and her family, both of Green Bay; one special brother -in-law, and sister-in-law and their family, Geeorge and Florence Balza, town of Eaton.
[489] She was preceeded in death by one grandson, Eugene Naniot.
[490] Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, until time of funeral. Parish wake service 7 p.m. today, Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Robert Rhyner officiating. Entombment in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
[491] Eleanors family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Bachhuber. Without his skill and determination, and God's help, we would have lost Mom 5 yeaars ago. Also special nieghbors and friends, Mert Rentmeester, and Laura Ettienne to name a couple, who spent time visiting and sharing their friendship with Mom throughout her illness. We would also like to thank Unity Hospice for all their help in Eleanor's last month.
