[2560] J.W. Johannes was born at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin in 1866. He went to school there, later moved to Ashton with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Nick Johannes and lived on a farm east of town.
[2561] He went back to Chippewa Falls and Married Mary Scheuer, his childhood sweetheart. She was born in 1872.
[2562] They came here and lived in Ashton, always members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
[2563] First he worked for John Jackley on a dray line and Mary kept school children for room and board. Later he worked for the Farmers Elevator for years.
[2564] They adopted a adaughter, Margaret. She attended St. Joseph School and later went toSewing School in Dubuque. She taught sewing in their home.
[2565] Margaret married William Berhns and lived in Sioux City.
[2566] J.W. JOhannes died in 1952 and his wife Mary died in 1950.

[2626] William Seivert and Barbara Johannes Seivert were married 7 March, 1994 at Camp Pendleton, Virginia. They are the parents of five children and have five grandchildren.
[2627] Their children are Anita, married to Eldern POSS and lives at Omaha, Nebraska; Dennis Seivert and wifde, Monica TAYLOR Seivert, they have two children; Danny and Veronica live at Sheldon; Mary married Terry HUISMAN, they have three children, Ben, Angela and Melissa and live at Sheldon and Daryl Seivert of Ashton.
[2628] William is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Barbara is a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and of the Council of Catholic Women and Legion Auxiliary.
