[2545] Louis C. Seivert was born October 31, 1892 at Ashton, Iowa the son of Mathias and Margaret (Meyers) Seivert. His parents farmed three miles northwest of Ashton. Their mother passed away when the seven children were quite young. After the death of his father January 28, 1912, Louis enlisted in the U.S Cavalry December 14, 1912. He served in the Pacific area. When World War I was declared, he served in France as a cook for the military. He received his discharge July 6, 1920.
[2546] On February 12, 1923 Louis married Elizabeth Johannes in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ashton by Rev. A.A. Bausch. They farmed 4 1/2 miles southwest of Ashton until retirement in 1964. After a lengthy illness he passed away June 17, 1969.
[2547] Five Children were born: Richard L., November 18, 1923; Robert, May 28 1925; James November 29, 1927; Inez Clare, January 13, 1932, was killed in a horse accident October 3, 1936 and Walter, February 3, 1934. Their sons have married and blessed them with 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
