[2554] Mayme Johannes was born January 13, 1884 at Brighton, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Peter Johannes and Josephine Mantz Johannes. At the early age of one she moved with her parents to Ashton, Iowa and lived on a farm north of Ashton. She attended St. Joseph's School and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Mayme lived there until 1912 when her parents retired and moved to Ashton. She lived with her folks until their death then lived out her life alone when she passed away November 29, 1974.
