[323] DePere - Mrs. Peter Van Lanen, 62, Rockland, route 1, died at 5 o'clock this morning in a Green Bay hospital, where she had submitted to a major operation. The body is at the Ryan Funeral Home, and will be taken tomorrow morning to the residence in Rockland. The funeral of Mrs Van Laanen will be held Saturday in this city with a requiem mass at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's church. Burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
[324] Mrs. Van Laanen was born Nov. 21, 1878, in Bay Settlement, a daughter of Mr. and mrs. Henry Smits. She married Mr. Van Laanen there May 20, 1908. The couple resided in Green Bay, until 1910 and then located to the Rockland farm.
[325] Surviving are her husband, four sons, Alfred, West DePere; Elmer, DePere, Norman, Morrison, Arthur, at home; one daughter, Lorretta, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Matt Rentmeester, West DePere, Mrs. Cornelius Van Gruesven, Appleton, Nellie Smits, Oneida.
