[2058] Norbert C. Van Lanen 524 E. Lincoln Avenue, Little Chute
[2059] Age 68, passed away Monday evening, January 8, 1990 at Appleton Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born September 11, 1921 at Route 1 Greenleaf. He wa the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Vander Heiden) Van Lanen. He was married to Mayme Vandeyacht on May 31, 1945 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. He was employed at Appleton Papers Combined Locks Mill for 43 years prior to his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. John Catholic church, Little Chute; a member of the Combined Locks Quarter Century Club. He was the retreat promoter for 35 years at Monte Alverno Retreat House for Men's Retreat of the Little Chute area. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Jacob Coppus Post 258.
[2060] Survivors include his wife, Mayme; a son and daughter-in-law: John (Jack) and Frances Van Lanen; two daughters and sons-in-law: Roseann and William Dichraff, Green Bay; Laura and Gerald Plank, Oshkosh; two grandaughters: Katherine and Rebecca Dichraff; three sisters: Collette and Herbert Nytes, Kaukauna; Mary and Robert Kessler, Kimberly; Sister Anne Jude "Roseann" Van Lanen, C.S.A., Fond du Lac; two brothers: Frances and Becky Van Lanen, Green Bay; William and Mary Lou Van Lanen Beaverton, Oregon; sisters-in-law: Marie and Butch Dobrinska, Kaukauna; Evelyn Van Lanen, Green Bay; Alice Bratz, Little Chute; Rita and Thomas Eichler, San Angelo, Texas; Irma and Kenneth Levy, Brooklyn, New York; brother-in-law: Arthur and Joann Vandeyacht, Combined Locks; Mark and Pat Vandeyacht, Kaukauna; Lloyd and Edris Vaandeyacht, Milwaukee.
[2061] He was preceeded in death by his parents and three brothers: Reuben, Ralph and Eugene. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. James Vannden Hoogen officiating. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services. There will be an American Legion Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Military rites will immediately follow the funeral mass.
