[700] 100th Birthday Aniversary - Delia Peters Van Lanen
[701] Mrs. Albert Van Lanen celebrated her 100th birthday anniversary with a mass and family party on Saturday, May 27th, 1995. She was also feted with a party in her honor on Friday, May 26th, by the St. Paul Home staff.
[702] Delia M. Van Lanen was born in rural West Depere on May 27th 1895, the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Peters.
[703] Delia married Albert Van Lanen on June 25, 1924, and they lived in Green Bay approximately two years after their marriage during which time Albert and his brother-in-law, Joseph Angst, owned Green Bay Upholstery.
[704] In 1926 Albert and Delia moved to Kaukauna, where he started his own business. He built his home and shop, Van's Upholstery Shop, on the corner of Highway 41, now Draper Street, and Gertrude Street. Albert lived there until he passed away in 1980 at the age of 86. Delia continued to reside there until 1991, when she entered the St. Paul Home, where she resides today.
[705] Delia has three sons and two daughters. They are Richard Van Lanen and his wife, Mary; Junior Van Lanen; Dolores Feldkamp, whose husband Robert is deceased; Eugene Van Lanen and his wife, Mary Jean; and Vivian Schaefer and her husband Joseph. Completing the family circle are 16 grandchildren and one deceased, and 23 great-grandchildren.
[706] Delia always enjoyed her role as a homemaker. Cooking and sewing were an on-going thing in her home, but they came to a halt if a card game happened along. Delia's hearing is not very good, and her eyes are not too sharp; nonetheless, she still plays a pretty good game of cards. Her wit is ever present, as is her spunk as the staff at the home are well aware. Delia attends mass in the St. Paul Chapel most days. Her home parish is Kaukauna is Holy Cross.
[707] When asked about her longevity Delia's reply was, "I can't believe I've lived 100 years."

[709] Formerly of 232 Gertrude St, Kaukauna, age 100, died Sundaay, October 1, 1995 at St. Paul Home. She was born May 27, 1895 in West Depere, Town of Lawrence, the daughter of Michael and Margaret Peters. She enjoyed singing, playing cards and visiting with people. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies of the Holy Cross. She is survived by five children: Richard and Mary Van Lanen, Grindle Lake; Junior "Moe" Van Lanen, Kaukauna; Dolores Feldkamp, De Pere; Eugene and Mary Jean Van Lanen, Kaukauna; Vivian and Joseph Schaefer, Kimberly; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1980; a grandchild, Andrea Feldkamp; three brothers: Pete, Bernard, and Martin Peters; five sisters: Ann Kersten, Gertrude Van Boogard, Mary Thyssen, Helen Vander Velden and Martha Vanden Heuvel. The Mass of Resurection will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 1995 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna from 3 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of mass. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Fargo Funeral Home 400 W.
