[142] Norbert Boncher was the third son born 17 July 1915 to Joseph Henry Massey and Mary Louise Leurquin. He was eduacated throught the 8th grade. At the age of 17, he threw his clothes out of the upstairs window, stole his brothers bike and rode it from Green Bay to Batavia, IL and joined a carnival. After one month he quit the carnival and hopped a freight train to California. He joined the U.S. Army in 1938. He married Delores Cavallaro in Salinas, CA, on February 9,1938. Their first child Norbert Jr. (Butch) was born in California on November 28, 1938.
[143] Norbert stayed in the Army in California until 1942 and mustered out, however, because of the war effort he was recalled into the Army and served 1946 when he was mustered out for medical reasons. On December 19th, 1944 their second son Joseph was born. After leaving the Army Norbert worked as an industrial carpenter. Their third son Robert was born on December 13th, 1946. The family remained in California until 1954, when they moved back to Green Bay, WI.
[144] Norbert was employed as a carpenter at the Fruin & Colnon Construction Company from 1959 until 1971. He worked for Basten Construction from 1971 until 1974 when he fell down a stairwell on a constructin site and was forced to retire.

[147] Norbert C. Boncher Sr. , 79 Route 1, New Frankin died Wednesday evening May 17, 1995, at a local hospital. The son of Joseph and Mary (Leurquin) Boncher, was born in Green Bay July 17, 1915. Norbert served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1938 - 1946. He married the former Delores Cavalaro February 9, 1938 in Salinas, California. The couple moved back to Green Bay in 1954. Norbert was employed as a carpenter for Fruin & Colnon Construction from 1959-1971. He worked for BAsten Construction from 1971 until 1974 when he retired from a job related disability. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church, Luxemburg V.F.W. and the AFL-CIO Carpenters and Joiners Unoin. Norbert was Past President of the Carpenters Credit Union and one of the charter members of the SS. Peter & Paul Booster Club. He started the Busy Beaver 4-H Club in the town of Preble and was Past President of the Fox-Valley Rabbit Breeders Association. Norbert enjoyed making crafts, woodworking, gardening, raising animals, and times spent with grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
[148] Survived by wife, Delores; four sons and daughters-in-law Norbert Jr. (Butch) and Mary Alice Boncher, Maribel; Joseph and Mary Boncher, Chicago; Bob and Judy Boncher, Green Bay; Fran and Karen Boncher, Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nadine and John Nabielski, Green Bay; Christine and Toni Bast, Appleton; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Boncher, San Jose, Calif.; three half brothers and spouses, Donald and Dora Balza, Pound; Firman and Nathalie Balza, Green Bay; Tony and Grace Balza, Appleton; one step-brother and spouse, George and Florence Balza, green Bay, nieces and nephews.
[149] Preceded in death by one brother, Killian (Frank) Massey; four stepbrothers, Gordon, Hank, Goldie and Bill Balza.
[150] Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird St. from 4 too 9 p.m. Friday, and prior to the funeral on Saturday. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Friday, Funeral Saturday 10 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Church. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Bellin Hospital/2nd floor for the care and consideration given to Norbert.
