[511] Alice Lindstrom remembers:
[512] My brother Arthur, was the seventh of the children born April 28, 1903, and died October 22, 1967, in Upton, Wyoming where he had lived for many yeears as he had gone there for asthma in about 1928, before Rud and I were married and Betty was a baby. Art had asthma all his life and he was seeking a new place to live to get some relief from the dreaded disease. He was much better after he got out there living in Rapid City, SD, first, then Sundance, WY and Spearfish, SD, and finally staying in Upton, WY where I visited him after not seeing him for 26 years. It was a great trip as I went by train to Chicago and visited Cousin Bill Duca, therethen took the train west to Lincoln, NB, where I changed trins for Upton. The sign said "The Biggest Small Town in The World." The conductor on the train was about as excited as I was at seeing my brother after such a long time. I would never have known him if I had met him on the street, as he was short and fat, somehow I had pictured him as tall as my dad but my mother's family were short poeple so my sister Anna is very short like them also. My stay of three weeks was very enjoyable, Kathy was the baby then and all the rest had flown the nest already. Jack and his wife Mary, lived in Upton and had 2 boys aand 2 girls. Arnold (named for Arts buddy Arnold McTrusty) lived in Sundance and worked for the Powwer Company. They have two girls. That little townis known for the night rodeos, sod house, and passion plays.
[513] Art lived in the west for most of his married years, going there for his asthma. He lived in Spearfish, SD; Lead SD; Rapid City SD; and Upton, WY with his widow still in New Castle, WY and all of his children living in nearby towns. GAretta has since passed away.
