Hubert Joseph Duca &
Ann Marie Josephe Balza

Hubert Joseph DUCA (Ducat) was born on May 4th, 1868 in Lougueville, Brabant, Belgium, the son of Jean Martin DUCAT and Marie Therese BOUVIN. At the age of three Hubert and his family immigrated and settled in Humboldt Wisconsin.  At the age of 18 here learned the blacksmith trade.

Mary (Anne Marie) Josephe BALZA was born on July 17th, 1870 just outside of Liege in Sart-Walhain, Brabant, Belgium the second daughter of Antoine BALZA and Marie Antoinette FLAHAUT.  Mary and her family immigrated from Belgium in August of 1880 (see the link above for the details).

Hubert and mary were married in the town of Appleton, Outagamie county, Wisconsin on April 18th, 1892.  Two years after their marriage they moved to Amberg, Marinette county, Wisconsin.

Together they raised nine children as follows:

• John DUCA, born about 1893 and died the same year, in  Appleton, Outagamie county Wisconsin
• Mary (Mamie) DUCA, born July 27th, 1894 in Amberg, Marinette county, Wisconsin. She married George WILLIS and they had four children.
• Henry DUCA, was born February 4th, 1896 in Amberg, Marinette, Wisconsin.  His first marriage was to Ruby KEELEY with whom he had two children.  His second marriage was to Margaret LINDEN.
• Anna DUCA was born on April 29th, 1897 in Amberg. She married Ruben BOLANDER and they raised six children.
• Ida DUCA, came into the world on June 4th, 1899, in Amberg.  She marries Wilbur (Mike) BOLANDER and together they had four children.
• Lucy DUCA was born in Amberg on October 8th, 1901.  She first married William PROCHASKA and gave him two children, after his death she married Harry DIXON.
• Arthur DUCA was born on April 28th, 1903 in Amberg. He married Garretta ETHINGTON and they had five children.
• Alice Margaret DUCA was born in Amberg on August 19th, 1905.  She first married  and divorced Leslie G. HOLLIHAN.  After his death she married Rudolph Oscar LINDSTROM and had three children.
• Ruth DUCA was born on October 30th, 1912, and died on November 10th, 1912.

Hubert Duca passed away on September 30th, 1934 in the State general Hospital in Madison, WI. (obituary)

Mary Duca died on October 25th, 1957 in Iron Mountain, Dickinson, MI (obituary)
