William J. Balza, 70, rt. 2, Luxemburg, died Saturday morning at a Green Bay hospital.  He was born June 30, 1909, in Duval to the late Theophile and Mathilda Finendael Balza.  he married Clarissa Arendt on Oct. 5, 1938, at St. Mary's Church, Luxemburg.  He operated a farm near Luxemburg most of his life.  He also was employed by the Algoma Net Co. for 18 years and retired in 1977.  He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Edmund, Raymond and Michael, all of Luxemburg; three grandchildren;  seven brothers, Henry, George, Goldie, Gordon, Donald and Firman all of Green Bay, and Gall, Appleton;  two step brothers, Clarence Boncher of California, and Norbert Boncher, New Franken.  He was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Frank Boncher (Massey).

Friends may call at the McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, after 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. mary's Church, Luxemburg, with Rev. William Hernaur officiating.  Burial in the church cemetery.
