He arrived in New York on July 4, 1882 aboard the Vessell "Herder" at the age of 7. He was naturalized Oct 9, 1896 in St. Louis, Missouri. He immigrated with father, mother and 2 year old sister, Mary. The family listed their last address as 'Kuhsdorf, Germany. He married Elizabeth M Noonan b 19 May 1878 in St. Louis, Mo.
