BARNHART FAMILY

Conrad Barnhart was born about 1758 in Pennsborough, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania or about 1750 Palantate, Germany.  He married Barbara G'Feller about 1780 probably in Shenandoah County, Virginia.

John Adam Barnhart of Pennsborough, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania had a son, Conrad, born about 1758 in Pennsborough.

Conrad Bernard (age 24) arrived in Philadelphia on the Snow Sally August 15, 1774.

Both of these men were in Pennsborough in the 1770's and have been recorded as the husband of Barbara G'Feller.  Supposedly, one remained in Pennsylvania and the other did not.

My initial research found him as the son of John Adam Barnhart and Christiana Unknown of Pennsborough.  In the 1880 census records of Osage County, Missouri, Abraham, son of Conrad, listed both parents born in Tennessee - not possible.  Another son, Henry listed both parents born Pennsylvania in the 1880 Maries County, Missouri census - maybe.

So far, I have found nothing to validate which Conrad married Barbara G'Feller.

The family migrated from Pennsylvania into Virginia and by late 1700 Tennessee.  Conrad is listed in the 1797 Greene County Tax List as Coonrod Barharte.  They lived in Horse Creek Valley where they remained for the rest of their lives.  Have found many recordings of all children born in Greene County, but some of the older children were probably born in Virginia. Beginning early 1830's through late 1850's several of Conrad's children - Jacob, Adam, John, Conrad, Jr., Abraham, Mathias, Susannah, Henry, and Ernest Felix - migrated to Cole, Osage, Maries, Miller, Dunklin, Stoddard, Atchison and Nodaway Counties, Missouri.

Conrad died 1828 in Greene County, Tennessee leaving a will.  Barbara died between 1847-1850 in Greene County.  Ernest Felix was administrator of her estate.

G'FELLER FAMILY

Barbara G'Feller was born in Pennsylvania or Virginia about 1766.  She was the daughter of Adam G'Feller and Mary Magdalene Huber (Hoover).

Charles Stedman was the Captain.  Adam took the Oath of Allegiance to Great Britain and the Province of Pennsylvania the day he arrived.  His name appeared on this record as passenger Adam Feller and Adam Gheller for the Oath of Allegiance and Abjuration.  Adam is also listed in the Pennsylvania German Pioneers.

Adam migrated from Pennsylvania down through Virginia to Tennessee and settled in Horse Creek near Conrad and Barbara.  Adam died in Greene County between 1812-1813.

Adam was the son of Johannes GeFeller who arrived in Philadelphia October 5, 1737 on the Ship Billinder Townsend from Amsterdam. Johannes is found in the 1737 Pennsylvania Early Tax Census in Philadelphia County. He is also listed in the Pennsylvania German Pioneers and Pennsylvania Foreign Oaths of Allegiance.  Johannes and Adam sailed on different vessels with Adam arriving three days later than Johannes

Adam married Mary Magdalen Huber (Hoover), the daughter of Jacob Huber and Anna Unknown.

Jacob was the son of Hans Huber and Margaret Koch.  Jacob was born in Switzerland and came to Pennsylvania about 1710 with his parents. The Huber family lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and were Mennonites.
