The Marketing Savvy of L. L. Bartlett
Items for "the swell head dandy or the country gentlemen"

For a while Lucien L. Bartlett operated a general merchandise store in Chatfield, Texas,
in northeastern Navarro County, near the Trinity River.
Below is an advertisement from
The Navarro Express, Corsicana, Texas, September 26, 1861, page 1.
The Civil War had begun, and Confederate shipping was hampered by a blockade.
Apparently money was tight but L. L. would extend credit.
