1. Mary E. ('Mollie') CLAYTON^1,2,3,4,5,6 (pictured above--photo courtesy of Pat Sproat), second daughter and second child of Joseph Alvey CLAYTON and Margaret Amanda POOLE, was born on 20 Feb 1851 in Washington County, Texas.^7,8 She married William Fletcher BACHMAN, son of John B. BACHMAN and Margaret Morris HUGHES, on 20 Jan 1874 in Navarro County, Texas.^{9,10,11,12,13,14} She died on 20 Jul 1889 in Dallas County, Texas, at age 38.^15,16,17,18 She was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^19,20,21 Her name may have been Margaret. One source states that she was born on 15 Jul 1852 in Dallas County, Texas. One source states that she married William Fletcher BACHMAN on 19 Jan 1874 in Kerens, Navarro County, Texas.^22,23,24

William Fletcher BACHMAN^25,26 was born on 16 Sep 1846 in Delina, Marshall County, Tennessee.^27,28,29 He died on 21 Apr 1911 in Dallas County, Texas, at age 64.³⁰ He was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^31,32,33 He was educated at McKenzie College in Clarksville, Tennessee and was a school teacher for most of his adult life. He enlisted in Thomas's company of Nat Burford's regiment in the Confederate Army in 1863 and served until the end of the Civil War. (James Thomas was captain of Company K, which was raised in Dallas County, Texas, and Burford commanded the 19th Texas Cavalry Regiment, part of Parsons's Brigade. The 19th was for much of the war stationed in eastern Arkansas but spent some time in southeastern Missouri and northern Louisiana. It engaged with Union troops on several occasions.) His grave marker gives 13 Apr 1911 as the date of his death, and another source gives 20 Apr 1911.^34,35,36,37

2. i. John Clayton BACHMAN^{38,39,40,41,42,43} was born on 30 Sep 1875 in Dallas County, Texas.^44,45,46,47 He died on 6 Nov 1876 in Dallas County, Texas, at age 1.^48,49,50,51 He was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^52,53
3. ii. Annie Q. Mills BACHMAN^54,55,56,57 was born on 27 Sep 1877.^58,59 She married James Porter COCHRAN, son of William P. COCHRAN and Amanda Maria LAWRENCE, on 30 Oct 1904 in Dallas County, Texas.^60,61 She died on 22 Feb 1910 in Dallas County, Texas, at age 32.^62,63 She was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.⁶⁴ One source gives Nov 1876 as her birth date, and another says she was born on 25 Sep 1878. One source gives 30 Aug 1904 as the date of her marriage to James Porter COCHRAN.^65,66,67
4. iii. William Holmes ('Johnie') BACHMAN^{68,69,70,71,72,73} was born on 8 Apr 1881 in Dallas County, Texas.^74,75,76 He died on 21 Aug 1881 in Dallas County, Texas.^77,78,79 He was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^80,81
5. iv. Robert Marion BACHMAN^{82,83,84,85,86} was born on 19 Sep 1882.⁸⁷ He married Edna Bernice PARMITER on 22 Nov 1921 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.⁸⁸ He died on 3 Feb 1945 in Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, at age 62.⁸⁹ One source says that he was born in Nov 1882 in Dallas County, Texas, and another says that he was born on 19 Sep 1883 in Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas. He moved to Oklahoma in 1903, before statehood, and settled in Hobart, where he farmed and worked for Lucas Hardware.^90,91
6. v. James William BACHMAN^{92,93,94,95,96} was born on 25 Dec 1885 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^97,98,99,100 He married Edith May ROGERS on 22 Mar 1911 in Alberta, Canada.¹⁰¹ He died on 24 Oct 1966 in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California, at age 80.^102,103,104 He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California.¹⁰⁵ He lived in Los Angeles, California and was a carpenter for Lansky Studios and perhaps other motion picture studios.^106,107
7. vi. Mary Ida BACHMAN^{108,109,110,111,112,113} was born on 27 May 1880 in Dallas County, Texas.^114,115,116 She died on 27 May 1880 in Dallas County, Texas.^117,118,119 She was buried in Cochran Chapel Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.^120,121
