208. John⁸ Forshee (John⁹ Foshay, Pierre¹⁰) (#191) was born in New York, New York, Ny 15 Jan 1733. John died 21 Apr 1818 in Ramapo, Rockland, Ny, at 85 years of age.

He married twice. He married Rebecca Wood. (Rebecca Wood is #319.) He married Magdalena Banta 1759. (Magdalena Banta is #192.) Magdalena was born in Tappan, Rockland, Ny 8 Oct 1736. Magdalena was the daughter of Abraham Banta and Annaetje Van Horn. Magdalena died 1776 at 39 years of age. Her body was interred in Brick Church Old. She was christened 31 Oct 1736.

The sources for this family came from Jerry Hatch in Chicago. His sources were Dorothy Maxon 1983 Velma Forshee 1983 Smith "Smith-Forshee family" Banta "Banta Geneaoly" "Isaac Kool and Catherine Serverin" by Rev. David Cole 1876, p 87. This is the only book I have been able to check. I do have deeds which have been recorded in Passaic County Courthouse which were Bergen County Deeds. The lack of a deed index in Bergen County really is a problem to do more deed research.
