- * [42g:v2,v3:198]: re wife Huldah
- *Re wife Abigail: Ident. of the John of the 1827 deed above as
this man is based on -- Simeon Carpenter is his brother-in-law;
the land seems to have once been owned by [grandfather] Joseph
Blanchard & probably part of that seized by the creditors of John
Blanchard [father of John Blanchard & Sarah Carpenter] who may
not have had clear title. This deed might have been part of the
long court case to settle the ownership question.
[Worc. Co. deeds do not show releases to Carpenter by any other
Blanchard. Check Grantee index for other releases to Carpenter
Note: John & wife Abigail of Harvard, Worc, MA seem to always
have stayed in Harvard.] [See TG1-343-3]
- * [136] suggests one wife was a Sarah DIXON. Source of data was a
D.A.R. burial record [Chenango Co.?]; however, corresp. noted
numerous data errors. Visit to cem., Pitcher: no Blanchard
headstones noted. ] No other ref. to this "Sarah" located.
- See son George: His wife Sarah may have remarried.
- Re Cortland Co. records: no probate; CHECK deed P:9
- Re Chenango Co. deeds: No trans. noted by John in index. His
only trans. seems to be the deed issued to son George.
