Orlin and Mary Blanchard
This picture of Orlin and Mary BEAL BLANCHARD was sent to me by Kristina Hall
[ grkrhall@i2k.com ] and may have been taken in the late 1800s or early 1900s
by Hunter's Studio at Caybery, IL. According to Kristina, Orlin was born in
1827, possibly in Auburn, Cayuga, NY. He moved to IL when he was 18. His son,
William, is Kristina's g.grandfather. William had two sisters, Addie and
Alice who cared for their father Orlin prior to his death in 1906. William
married Blanch BOWERS. Other associated surnames are PEEBLES and LAROCHE.
Does anyone know of a connection of this Orlin to any of the 'established'
Blanchard lines?
Here is a possible clue. William5 Blanchard (
William4, George3,
George2, Thomas1)
was born in Killingly, Windham, CT, a son of William and Thankful WEBSTER BLANCHARD.
Following his service in the Rev War, he settled in Isle La Motte, Grand Isle,VT
where he died. William's son, Orlin Perry BLANCHARD was born in
Isle La Motte and moved to Orwell, Ashtabula, OH about 1836. His son,
William Perry, had a son Orlin who died young, but perhaps there were other
'Orlins' in this or related lines. Then again, maybe this is just a
coincidence! FB
