Thomas E. Blanchard

Sandra Lee WALDROP DOOLITTLE came across this photograph recently and was amazed at its resemblance to her son and several other generations of her family. Thomas Eliel Blanchard was born 1840 in GA, served in the Civil War and was a prominent citizen and businessman in Columbus, GA. According to the bio associated with this photo, "His pioneer ancestors included the BLANCHARDs and LOCKHARTs who settled in Nansemond County, Virginia, near Suffolk".

Sandra's principle interest is to locate another photograph of Thomas E. to see if it shows the same resemblance. Because there are several B-L members with interest in the VA BLANCHARDs of Nansemond Co., I thought I would stretch the UBP criteria and add T. E.'s photo.

Thomas E. and his wife Sarah E. MAC DOUGALD did not have any children but Thomas had five brothers and two sisters. Some of the surnames in Sandra's lines are: RICHARDSON, MC KENZIE, MC BRIDE, WHITE, ALDRIDGE, and LIVERMAN. There could be an indirect connection to Thomas E., then again, this may be pure coincidence.
