Evelyn Augusta Tasey and Family

Evelyn Augusta⁴ Tasey (Ellen J.³ Lennon, Margaret² Blaney, James D.¹) was born 22 May 1904 in Buffalo, Erie Co. NY and baptized 26 May at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. [1] She began working in 1922, at age 18, and the Buffalo City Directory gave her occupation as "stenographer." In 1926 she was employed in that capacity by the Iroquois Gas Corporation, where she continued to work through 1938.

She likely married c. 1939, as she disappeared from the Buffalo City Directory in that year. [2] Her second husband's obituary refers to her as "Evelyn McCarthy Tasey" and lists two "foster" children named McCarthy, presumably Evelyn's children from her first marriage. [3]

Either death or divorce ended Evelyn's marriage to Mr. McCarthy, for on 6 November 1958, at the age of 54, she married Frank J. Ross. [4] The groom was 64. Frank was born on 14 April 1894 and died a few years after their marriage, on 3 July 1965, in Erie Co. NY. [5]
