Gilbert B. Hitchcock and Josephine Meyer

Gilbert B.³ Hitchcock (Anastatia² Blaney, James D.¹) was born 17 July 1883 in Detroit, Wayne Co. Michigan. With his brother Leo, he founded the Elmwood Electric Company. He died 20 December 1948 in Buffalo and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.

On 7 November 1908 in Buffalo Bert married Josephine Meyer, the daughter of Henry T. Meyer and Lucy George. She was born 17 September 1885 in Bennington, Wyoming Co. NY. Josephine was a devout Catholic and much involved in the Altar and Rosary Society of Holy Angels Church. She grew up on a farm and enjoyed walking whenever she could, continuing this practice even in her later years. She died 31 March 1978 in Buffalo.

Gilbert B. Hitchcock and Josephine Meyer had the following children:

	58	ii.	Alicia Mary Hitchcock was born 13 August 1909 and baptized at Blessed Sacrament Church. her great-aunt Alicia Blaney was a sponsor. She died 8 October 1916 of memingitis at the age of 8 and is buried in the Hitchcock family plot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
+	59	iii.	Ruth L. Hitchcock was born 29 October 1911.
+	60	iv.	Joseph Russell Hitchcock was born 29 July 1919.
