

Hester Ann3 Carlisle (Susan2 Blaney, James D.1) was born in 1869 in Buffalo and was baptized at St. Brigid's Catholic Church. She died 4 August 1951 in New York City. Her body was shipped home to Buffalo for burial in the Carlisle family plot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Hester married Thomas Guido O'Brien c. 1897. Tom was the son of Michael O'Brien and Anna Conyan and was born in Dunkirk, Chataqua Co. NY. In 1888 he began working as a clerk for the Lehigh Valley Railroad, but shifted in 1893 to a job as a reporter for the Buffalo Courier. By 1897 He was city editor for the Buffalo Enquirer. In 1900 he became the press agent for the Shea's Garden Theatre, and the manager of that establishment in 1906. A cousin remembered him as a kind-hearted man. He died 23 June 1907 of "Bright's disease," a general term for any ailment of the kidneys, and shares a grave with his infant son.
