Looking for info on my grandfather, GEORGE EDWARD Lane. His parents had both died when he was under 12. He was born in 1875 in the Valdosta/Quitman area of GA. A fire destroyed birth records. He was raised by his aunt, ELIZABETH Lane. I do know that his parents had
considerable land holdings in the area above, but the land was taken away during the reconstruction era after the Civil War. He married Minnie Willis and they stayed in Ga. until my father was older. Moved to Florida, Lakeland area. A branch of Lanes moved to the Tampa Bay area
after the Civil War. There was a cousin, Selma, who married an evangelist named Paul Cartledge or Cartlege--lived in Leesburg area of
Florida. Hope someone can make a connection.

My great-granddad was S.A. Layne of Tenn. I believe he lived in a county bordering Virginia because his daughter LITHA REBECCA Layne married my grand-dad William T. McCoy of Scott County, Virginia.
S.A. Layne's wife's maiden name was Victoria Spiva.
William T. and Litha moved to Tyler, Texas about 1901. She bought 166 acres of prime land. They are both buried in the Williams Cemetery outside of Tyler in Smith County, Texas.
I am looking for any information on S.A. Layne, Victoria Spiva, WilliamT. McCoy and his dad John McCoy of S.C., and Sarah Rose of Scott County Virgina (William T. McCoy's mother)

I am looking for info. on the subject (JAMES ALLEN Lane) who was born in McMinn Co. Tn. on 6/6/1855.His nickname was BUD. He married Louisa Tennessee Spradling in 1877,but I don't know where. Her father was Mort Spradling who lived in Virginia according to the 1850 and 1860 Meigs Co. Tn. census.
In searching the McMinn Co. records I notice that were several Lane families in that county over the early 1800's. My fathers name was SAMUEL and there was a Samuel Lane in Jefferson Co. in 1847, as was a TIDENCE C. Lane, who also shows up in Greene Co. in 1849 and McMinn Co. in 1855. An ISSAC Lane's will was recorded on 8/12/1852 where Ticence C. Lane's name again appears. And finally there is an R.S. Lane in the 1852 McMinn Co. deed book.
I wonder if there is any way to connect any of these people to my grandfather, J..A Lane? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

My husband is Jon Luethje, b.1946 to Marjorie Norton of Iowa who was stationed in the army air corps at several bases in California the previous year. She had a long standing romance with a pilot, we believe he was named PATRICK Lane, who said he was from Hampton, Va. We have several letters from him and it sounds like they shared a deep love and planned to have a future together. Situations at the war's end tore them apart, and she had her baby alone. Soon, she married Mr.Luethje who
adopted Jon. He died this past February, leaving Jon feeling free to finally look for his biological father. We have tried many avenues of search, only to hit dead ends, as our information about Mr. Lane is incomplete.

Tidence5, Rev.Tidence4, RICHARD3, DUTTON2, SAMUEL1).
My family lore says my ancestor HESTER Lane m. John Brittain. She was born about 1795 in TN. Hester's daughters have marriage records in Jefferson Co. There is also an 1814 Jefferson Co marriage record for an
EASTER LAIN & John Brittain. Census records indicate widow Hester Brittain lived in close proximity to Tidence5 Lane families in Jefferson - now Hamblen - Co., TN, from 1830 to 1850: Are Esther Lane, Easter Lain and my Hester Lane the same person?
I would appreciate directional pointers from anyone researching the family of this TIDENCE Lane of Jefferson/Hamblen Co, TN, 1790-1870.
Thanks!
