    Exhibited only 23 times, he placed in group every time save one, scoring 9 firsts.  He was Best In Show on many occasions, the most notable being BIS Westminster in 1948 and at Morris & Essex, 1947 and 1948, an unequalled accomplishment.  The favorable attention which his important wins inspired in the press and cinema throughout the world did much to increase interest in the breed.

    "Ch. Rock Ridge Night Rocket, the Bedlington Terrier that is the greatest show dog in America, won the world's biggest outdoor exhibition today when he was waved to the center of the ring in the 18th Morris & Essex Kennel Club event at Giralda Farms.

     'Belonging to Mr. and Mrs. William A. Rockefeller, Grennwich, Conn., the dog that had sprung to fame by taking best in show in this gigantic canine carnival a year ago became the first ever to get a second best at Morris & Essex.  Moreover, last February he had taken the top prize indoors at Westminster, so his claim to the highest rung in American dogdom could not be refuted.'

     'Alva Rosenberg made the selection that closed the 2,664-dog 38-breed classic 
under smiling skies after bitter and cloudy weather through most of the day.  He had the highest praise for his choice.'

     'I haven't judged him for a year, but he is just as great a dog as he was then,' said Rosenberg.  'He hasn't coarsened in any way, moved perfectly, was in perfect condition and fine coat.  He beat a grand lot of dogs, but he won quite easily.'

    'I'd say without reservation that he is one of the best I've seen in 38 years of judging.'

     'Night Rocket was being shown for the first time since Westminster.  Handler Anthony Neary claimed the two-year-old blue-coated Bedlington was in the best condition of his life before he even topped the breed, and so he was.  He showed like the champion he is to top a superb terrier group, thus getting into position to repeat the triumph of last year, when he was all but unknown.'

     'Almost overlooked in the excitement of his adding a second Morris & Essex 
best to that at Westminster was the fact that Night Rocket also had sparkled in 
lesser bench competitions.  He boosted his best-in-show record to seven and his group triumphs to nine.'

     The popularity of the victory was evident from the roar that went up from a 
large remnant of a crowd of 15,000 when Rosenberg sent Night Rocket to the 
center of the stage."

     Stud career:   Night Rocket produced 36 champions.  He can be found in most 
American pedigrees, touching almost every kennel in the U.S.
