Aerial view. This is a copy of a post Card purchased
in Longford County Ireland. Claffey Church is in foreground. It
appears
as the small back section of building in foreground. The two round
towers
are included in count of 8 churches. Small dots are grave
markers.

Clonmacnoise
entrance. Stone wall surrounds enclosure of 8 churches first founded by
St. Ciaran around 545 A. D. Doulin or
Dowling
and Hurpain (Claffey) Churches stand together on right.

South Cross, first
of
four High Crosses is said to be, probably the oldest in Ireland. This
replica
replaces original which has been moved into enclosure nearby to protect
it from the elements. It stands in front or Doulin and Hurpain (or
MacLlaffey
Church).
There are many Claffey
grave
stones in and around church. |

Original South
Cross. It is
enclosed in Visitor Center building to protect it from elements.
It has been replaced in front of Doulin, Hurpain (Claffey) church by a
replica.
