John P. CONNELLY's parents, Peter CONNELLY and Ann, nee MONAGHAN, were married at East Maitland, New South Wales, Australia on 3 November 1842.

Clara Selina BERRIMAN's father, Thomas BERRIMAN, was a convict from Bisley, Gloucestershire, England, while her mother, Julia GILLIGAN was an assisted immigrant from County Wicklow, Ireland.

Clara and John moved to Port Stephens by 1876, where their sixth child, Henry Bernard was registered. Clara's brother, Henry BERRIMAN and his wife Victoria, nee COX, also moved to Port Stephens at this time, as their second child, Henry, was registered there in 1876.
