Know all men by these presents that we, Jesse Elam and Rausy Elam, both of the County of Dallas and state of Texas, for and in consideration for the sum of fifty dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and the further consideration of the expense incurred paid by William Elam in taking care of and providing for us for the last ten years and further for obligation given us by the said William B. Elam to take care of and provide for us during our natural lives, do hereby covenant and agree, and by these presents bind and obligate ourselves to and with the said William B. Elam, to make and give to him a fee simple title to a section of land donated to us by the State of Texas, and being and situated in Peters Colony and County of Dallas aforesaid and known as Section Three Township 2 South and 2 East as soon as we have received a title to the same from the State of Texas aforesaid, and we and each of us do by these presents, and for and in consideration of the promises, should we not receive a grant from the State of Texas for the said land during our lives hereby bind our heirs, Executors and Administrators, to make and convey to the said William B. Elam, a good and valid fee simple title to said land when the grant or title to the same shall have been received from the state of Texas aforesaid, and we and each of us do hereby give, grant, bargain and sell in consideration of the above and for further consideration of one dollar in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the following property to wit, three mares and their young colts, two fillys two years old each and a yearling mule, four cows and calves, and one cow without a calf, one waggon and gearing, and all the above property real and personal we do hereby give, grant, bargain and sell to the said William B. Elam, to him and to his heirs forever. In testimony whereof we and each of us do hereby set our hands and seals this 22th day of July 1851.

Personally appeared before the undersigned County Clerk for the county aforesaid, Jesse Elam and Rausy Elam his wife, whose names appear to the foregoing instrument. of writing, with both of whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledge the execution thereof to be of their own aft for the purposes and consideration therein specified, and the said Rausy Elam being be me examined separate and apart from her husband, and the contents of said instrument by me fully explained to her, declared that she signed and sealed the same by making her mark) of her own free will and accord, without, the fear, force, persuasion or coercion of her husband, and that she wished not to retract it.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal this 22 day of July A.D. 1851.

In the name of the state of Texas. To all to whom these presents shall come. Know ye I, E.M. Pease, Governor of the state aforesaid, virtue of the power vested in me by law, and in accordance with the laws of said State -- in such case made and provided do by these presents grant to W.B. Elam a _____ of Jesse Elam his heirs and assigns forever, six hundred and forty acres of land situated and described as follows (in Dallas County on the waters of the Trinity River about 8½ miles S66E of Dallas by virtue of Certificate No. 33 issued by the Commissioner of Peters Colony on the 1st of April 1850 and transferred to said W.B. Elam on the 28th day of June 1852. Beginning at a stake 900 vs south of the south east corner of Survey No. 6 from which a Post Oak bears S39E vs. Thence west 1900.8 vs a stake in mound in prairie. Thence South 1900.8 vs a stake from which a Post Oak bears N57 W. 8 varas. Thence East 1900.8 varas a stake from which a Post Oak bears S25E 6 vs. Thence North 1900.8 vs to the place of Beginning Bearings marked X.
Hereby relinquishing to the him the said William B. Elam and his heirs or assigns forever all the right and title in and to said land heretofore held and possessed by the said state ______. And I do hereby issue this Letter Patent for the same. In testimony whereof I have caused the seal of the state to be affixed as well as the seal of the General Land Office. Done at the City of Austin on the twenty seventh day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six.

In the name of the State of Texas. To all to whom these presents shall come. Know ye I, E.M. Pease, Governor of the state aforesaid, virtue of the power vested in me by law, and in accordance with the laws of such state and in such case made and provided do by these presents Grant to Isaac Elam, his heirs and assigns, forever, Three Hundred and Twenty acres of land, situated and described as follows: on Dallas County on Trinity River about seven miles S66E from Dallas known as Survey No. 6 embracing the north half of Section 34, Township 1 south of 1st Baseline, Range 2 East of 1st Meridian, by virtue of Certificate No. 41, Vol. 1, issued by the Commissioner of Peters Colony on the 1st day of April, 1850. Beginning at a stake in mound in John Beeman's E. line. Thence south 475 varas John Beeman's S.E. corner 950 4/10 varas a stake in mound. Thence East 620 varas Elam's Branch 1900 8/10 varas a stake from which a post oak bears N53W 19 varas, a post oak which S52 E5 varas. Thence N 950 4/10 a stake in mound from which a post oak bears So½ E100 varas. Thence West 1900 8/10 to the place of beginning. Bearings marked X. Hereby relinquishing to him the said Isaac Elam and his heirs and assigns, forever, all the right and title to said land heretofore held and possessed by the said State, and I do hereby issue this letter patent for the same. In testimony whereof I have caused the seal of the state to be affixed as well as the seal of the General Land Office. Done at the City of Austin on the fourteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

Beginning at a stake 1188 varas south of John Beeman's S.E. corner from which a red oak bears S42 W.8 varas, an _____ bears N.21¼ W.3 varas. Thence west 1880 varas a stake in the bank of Trinity River from which a red oak bears S.30 E. 3 varas. Thence South with the meanders of the River, a stake from which a cottonwood bears S.60 E.3 varas. Thence East 1860 varas a stake from which a ash bears N.39 W.4 varas, an elm bears S.66 E.4 varas. Thence North 950 4/10 varas the place of beginning. Bearings marked X. Hereby relinquishing to him the said Isaac Elam and his heirs and assigns, forever, all the right and title to said land heretofore held and possessed by the said State, and I do hereby issue this letter patent for the same. Know all men by these presents, that I, Benjamin F. Bethurem of the County of Dallas in the State aforesaid, in consideration of the sum of two hundred forty dollars to me paid by Isaac Elam of the County of Dallas in the State of Texas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold and released, and by these presents to grant, bargain, sell and release to the said Isaac Elam, his heirs and assigns forever, all that lot, tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the County of Dallas and State of Texas on Prairie Creek and being 80 acres off the East and of 320 acres patented to me on the 4th day of April, 1854, and bounded as follows: Beginning at the South East corner of said 320 acres, it being the South half of Section No. 12, Township No. 2 South of the 1st base line in Range No. 2 East of the 1st Meridian.
