MONTICELLO---MONTIE ELAM, 88, Oil Valley, retired farmer, husband of Lexie Elam, died Sunday. Services 1 p.m. Wednesday, Hickey & Son Funeral Home. Visitation 4 p.m. today.

THE WAYNE COUNTY OUTLOOK OBITS APRIL 12, 2000
MONTIE M. ELAM, age 88, of Monticello, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 2, 2000 at his home.

He was born on November 7, 1911, the son of Granville and
Sara Elizabeth Hurt Elam. Both parents preceded him in death.

On July 16, 1932, he married Lexie Cooper Elam, who survives.

He is also survived by 2 sons Bobby Elam of Monticello,
Kentucky and Carl Elam of Pendleton, Indiana; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren;
and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding him in death are 6 brothers Menville, Walter, R.
N., Elmer, Guy and Edison.

He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful
member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church, where he served his Lord as Trustee, and was a member of Monticello,
Lodge $431 and the Monticello Order of the Eastern Star
#526.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, 2000 in the
funeral home chapel with Brother Stan Stevenson and Brother Albert McKinney officiating.  Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Hickey & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
