My father (JAMES Willis Elam) married my mother (Mary Jessie CRAVENS) in Northwest Missouri near the turn of the century. I know his father was WILLIAM Elam, who married Mary YARGER. Children were James Willis, FRANK, HARRY, ROY, ETHEL, MAMIE, MYRTLE, and MAE, that I can remember. I do not know where William or Mary Yarger came from or anything further than their names. I'd like to find other relatives out there, and any further information that anyone else has. Thank you.

I am searching for information on RICHARD Menifee Elam. He was a union soldier during the civil war and was killed while standing in a doorway at Salyersville, KY. My Grandmother was an Elam and lived near Paintsville, KY. We have a small picture of Richard in his uniform that includes a lock of hair.

Searching for information on WILLIAM K Elam from Carter County, Kentucky. Name appears on the Old Soldiers Monument in Burckett-Plummer Cemetery. Wife's name was Sarah - last name unknown. Four children - FRANCES - JOSEPH - and two others, names unknown. Died 1921. Believe there maybe some connection with the ZORNES family. Joseph's wife was a Stella MOORE, (parents William Moore and Sarah Zornes.) Any information would be appreciated.

My birth name was Johnny Wakefield Elam, my father was HAROLD Jonathon Elam, my mother's name was Hazel Marie ZOARNES, I was born in 1950, she met my father in Colorado in 1949 and they were not married. Any information on my father or the rest of my family would be appreciated.

My 3greats grandparents were Joseph Arthur SEATON and DELILAH Davis Elam who lived in Hart Co, KY in 1870 and 1880 census. I am seeking to prove Delilah's parentage, and when she was born or died. The marriages page gives her marriage date as 10 Dec 1846 in Wayne Co, KY. Arthur's name is given as CEATON/KEETON.

My paternal great grandmother was VIRGINIA Elam. She married John England OWENS. All are from Richmond (Chesterfield & Powhatan Co.) area. No one from my line has left the immediate area as my parents still live in Richmond. In your marriage lists for 1840-1849 I was very excited to find a ALBERT P. Elam who married Mary E. Foesee'. Foesee is my father's middle name and the first "sighting" of the rather unusual name other than my Dad. There has to be a connection! One doesn't see FOESEE everyday. If any one has any info on Albert P. circa 1820's, I would really be appreciative. I'm hoping Albert P. Elam and Mary E. Foesee are Virginia's parents and I can run it backwards from them.

I am hoping to connect with someone else who has any of these Elams in their files.

Columbus N. BRAY, born 1856 in MO, and raised in Reed's Creek, Washington Twp., Lawrence (now Sharp) County Arkansas, is listed as married to MATILDA Ann BRAY (maiden name Elam). Matilda died in the 1940's, with survivors of her family: MARY, CORDELIA, and a brother, JM Elam. Mary was married as SMITH, and Cordelia's married name was WYATT. They were listed in Matilda's obituary as living near Cartwright, OK. Mary SMITH lived in Caddo, OK.

Matilda Ann Elam was born in Cannon County, TN, according to the obit, in 1854. She was married in Sharp County, Arkansas, in 1877, and lived for a while in Independence County, AR, Marshall, TX, and Bryan County, OK.

Does anyone have any information on these Elams? I am hoping anyone can help.

I am looking for a marriage certificate/record for SARAH Elam who married Isaac VANHOOSER about 1839. They could have been married in Warren Co, TN or after their families moved to MO. I am not sure exactly when they arrived in Camden Co, MO. SARAH was born 1825 and was the daughter of LEMUEL Elam. Isaac was born 1820 and was the son of Jacob VANHOOSER. Sarah and Isaac moved to Parker/Jack Co, TX about 1858.

Interested in information on HODIJAH Elam of Stewart County, Georgia, date of death 1883. In particular whether this individual was the father of FRANCIS Marion Elam, dob 1844, who moved from GA to Danville, TX and fought for the Confederacy as a member of Terry's Texas Rangers. FM Elam of TX named his first son MICHAEL Hodijah Elam, thus the suspicion that the aforementioned was his father. Another Hodijah Elam has been noted as a member of the WILLIAM Branch Elam family if I recall correctly. Are these various Hodijah's of close relation? Any info on this would be appreciated.

JESSE Elam wife Rosa EVANS: Would like verification of birth and parents names for Jesse. Not verified information shows born 1780/81 in either GA or VA. Parents are shown as WILLIAM b. 3 Jan 1759 in VA and Caterine GREEN b. 15 Jan 1765 in VA.

Looking for the parents of MATILDA Ann Elam, born Feb 17 1854 in Cannon County, TN. She married Columbus N. BRAY in 1877 in Reed's Creek, Sharp County, AR. THeir children included Thesker BRAY, my wife's grandfather. Eventually, they all moved to TX, near Marshall, then on to Wood County, then winding up in Bryan County, OK, near Caddo. Any help would be appreciated
