I am trying to find any info I can on my grandfather, name is ELMO T. Elam. rumored to have moved to Corinth Miss in early 1900s. My mother has heard that he possibly was from east Texas (possibly Tyler Texas). Elmo T Elam died 1964 and is buried in Corinth Ms.

I am trying to find ancestors of WILLIE M. Elam (b. Nov. 1898 in or near Charlotte County, Virginia). Willie is the daughter of DORA Elam (b. 1880). Relating in reverse chronology, Willie is listed in 1910 as being 12 years old and living with her mother, Dora who is listed in the census as 25(!) years old with the last name LOCKETT (widow of Fred Lockett of Charlotte Co). Several other children are listed: Burnice (8), Emmet (6), Cleveland (4), Walter W. (2) and a stepson, Logan J (17). However, in 1900, unmarried Dora (aged 20, according to the census) and her infant daughter, Willie M. (1), are living with Dora's uncle, Willis WHITEHEAD (b.Jan 1852) and his wife of 27 years, listed as Frannie (b.Apr 1853), in Charlotte Co. There are no records for 1890. In 1880, in Mecklenburg Co. at Willis Whitehead's home, there are: Willis (26), his wife, listed as Jenny W. (24), his sister-in-law, Dora BROOKS (20), Dora's son, James (1) and Willis' brother-in-law, BUDGET [unsure about the spelling] Elam (12). This Dora might be Dora Elam's mother or aunt, and Jenny/Frannie's sister. Please contact me if there is ANY connection no matter how vague or slight it may be.
