Welcome to the Little Red School House! This
website belongs to Carol
Hepburn, a home schooling Mom and family
history buff. I am so glad that you found my site
and have stopped by to look it over. I have been home
schooling since 2004 and have created a number of schedules,
organizational methods and other
handy helpful tools to try and
keep our schooling running smoothly. You are welcome
to browse and download any of my files and use them for your
home school. |
Getting Started
There is a lot of information on these pages and it is easiest
to use our handy Search Engine below for quick results.
Just type in the word, phrase or even your family surname and
it will look through all the pages on this site and bring back
a listing of possible matches. If you are looking for something
specific but cannot find it, drop me an email!
My Family Tree
If you have found my website because of another genealogy search
engine, you can see my Online Family Tree
database. I am not working on my tree anymore (just stuck!)
and cannot really answer any personal research questions. Feel
free, however, to browse through my 12,000+ member database and
hopefully it might help you make some new connections.

Take a Peek Into Our Home School
Our home school will probably look very different from
your home school. We don't have a school room and
we don't keep regular school hours. We don't even
use textbooks! We read from many, many living books
and take an integrated approach to our studies. We
incorporate student-directed learning as much as possible
and make self-education a high priority. Our goal is
to make our school year very fun, low-key, and completely
unique and unusual!
We use several wonderful FREE curriculums
to build out our own unique program each year: Ambleside
Online, Yesterday's
Classics (mainlesson.com), MEP
Math, and The
Annenberg Project. In addition to free curriculum,
we also use A Beka, Bob Jones, and other traditional
textbooks as needed. Our overall approach to home
schooling is eclectic, rather than singly focused on one
teaching method. We have found great success using a
variety of tools and methods.
