           Moses Brooks enlisted from Washington county and served as lieutenant in Campbell's regiment of
          volunteers. He was wounded at the battle of Guilford Court House, but recovered and fought valiantly at
          King's Mountain, where his father rendered valuable service. After peace was declared he removed to
          Tennessee, where he died in 1830.
          James Reed, although an old man, served in the Revolution, as did his seven sons, James, Samuel, Benjamin,
          John, Thomas, William, and Joseph. Also No. 1701.
          James Stephenson gave militia service during the war.

          and it is still standing at Hackensack. He died in 1835, at the age of eighty-nine.

          John Miller, Jr., (1750-1808), served as civil engineer and was at the siege of Yorktown. He built the first
          house at Richmond, Ky., founded the city where he died, and the inscription upon his tomb records his
          pioneer service. He was born in Albemarle county, Va.

          James Holloway entered the army as ensign and served in the Virginia Continental Line to the close of the
          war. He died, 1829, in Jessamine county, Ky.
         William Bean, who was born in Scotland, enlisted from Cecil county, 1776, in the Flying Camp and his letters
          from Long Hill show he served under Lord Stirling.
          Benjamin Seawell was a delegate from Bute county to the Provincial Congress at Halifax, 1776. He served in
          the militia for home defense. He died in Wilson county, Tenn.

          David Hammond, (1747-1801), entered the Continental Line as sergeant in Capt.James Parr's company and

          and was wounded in an attack on the block house, Tom's river, near Bergen, July 19, 1780. He served to the
          close of the war and became a member of the Cincinnati. The certificate is now in the possession of a
          descendant and namesake. He was born in Northumberland county and is buried there in the Chillisquaque
          graveyard.
