Robert Boyd, b abt. 1785 in Ireland. He married Mary ?.
2. Robert Boyd, born 17 Mar 1810 in Tyrone, Ireland. He married Sarah Miller, 25 Sep 1846 in Derrygortrevy, Parish Clonfecle, Co Tyrone, N. Ireland. Sarah was born 23 Mar 1823 in Ireland. His occupation was stated as a carpenter. They immigrated to New York 2 Apr 1849 with their son, Robert Jr. when he was a toddler during the Great Potato Famine in Ireland. Robert died 3 Aug 1890 in Trumbull Co., Ohio and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Howland. Sarah died 23 Jun 1898 in Trumbull Co., OH. They had seven children: 3. Eliza J. Boyd, born16 Jun 1854 in Philadelphia, PA. She married (1) Frank P. Adams 19 Mar 1879 in Trumbull Co., OH. Frank died 16 Jan 1902. Married (2) Milton H Harsh 27 Dec 1904 in Warren, OH. Eliza died 20 Nov 1934 in Warren, OH. 3. John Alexander Boyd, born 10 Mar 1856 in Philadelphia, PA. He married Ida May Goodrich 22 Dec 1881 in Trumbull Co., OH. John died 1 Jun 1934 in Champion, OH. 3. William M. Boyd, born 1857 in Trumbull Co., OH. He married Alda Marion Cherry, 2 Apr 1885. He died 13 Aug 1935 in Akron, OH. 3. Samuel Jackson Boyd, born 16 Feb 1859 in Trumbull Co., OH. He married Emily Hyde Jones 25 Jan 1888 in Trumbull Co., OH. Samuel died 17 Aug 1930 in Warren, OH. 3. Mary S. Boyd, born 27 Jun

Southington newspaper 19 Oct 1909 “The funeral of Robert Boyd was held at his late residence Thursday at 10 o’clock. Burial at the center cemetery. Deceased had suffered for three months with cancer of the stomach. He leaves a wife and six children- Mrs. Charles Porter, Bristol; Mrs. Libbie Farr, South Carolina; Charles Boyd, Warren; Mrs. Pearl Page, Bristol; Mrs. Lonie Weir, Northwest Canada, and Bert Boyd, Southington. Charles Boyd who has been suffering with typhoid fever, and Mrs., Farr and Mrs. Weir were unable to attend.” Julia died in 1922 in Phalanx Station, OH and was also buried in Pinecrest Center Cemetery. They had seven children: 4. Rosetta (Rozetta) E. Boyd, born 12 Aug 1871 in Trumbull Co., OH. In the 1900 Southington census her occupation was listed as a servant and she was single. She married Charles Porter sometime after 1900 and lived in Bristol. She died before 1922. They had no children. 4. Elizabeth (Libbie) Sophia Boyd, born 8 Apr 1875 in Southington, OH. Married Asa Abel Farr, 11 Jun 1899 in Buffalo, New York. Had two sons and two daughters (Asa, Wilson, Eldena Ross, Georgia Pierce). She died 20 Jun 1954 in Charleston, SC. Asa died 26 Oct 1950 also in Charleston, SC. 4. Mary Pearl Boyd, born in Apr 1880, and married Edwin Page. They lived in Williamsfield, OH. Had one son and four daughters (Edwin, Marie Evans, Alice Mannell, Louise Rose and Marion Page). 4. Louise (Lonie) Boyd, born 4 Apr 1882 in Southington, OH. She married Frank Weir 18 Apr 1905 in Brantford, Ontario. They lived in Saskatchewan, Canada. Had three children (Frances, Arthur and Norman). Louise died 16 Jul 1967 in Canada. Frank died 7 May 1970 in Canada. 4. Robert John (Burt) Boyd, born 3 Mar 1887 in Southington, OH. He married Velma Cowden. He had one son and four daughters (Clarence, Julia, Oneita, Theo, Jane, Shirley). Robert lived in the family home in Southington, OH with his mother Julia until her death. Robert’s occupation in the 1910 census was listed as a farmer. Robert died 5 Apr 1962 in Southington, OH. Velma died 13 Nov. 1968 in Southington, OH. 4. Henry Austin Boyd, died in infancy. 4. Charles Raymond Boyd, born
Sept 1877 in Ohio. Married Nettie Alice Crocker 24 Jun 1899 in Trumbull
Co., OH. Some records in the probate court list Nettie as Alice Crawford.
In the first year after being married, Charles and Alice went to Thompson,
OH and lived where Charles worked in a lumber camp for Henry Crocker
(Alice’s brother). It was while he was working there he and Henry
fell in the Grand River when it had ice on it (while trying to cross).
Charles was able to pull Henry to shore and they crawled to a house where
a lady undressed them and wrapped them in blankets and dried their clothes,
saving them from freezing. Charles was a strong swimmer. He often
told the story, that as a boy he could swim from Leavittsburg to the Hartscrabble
Bridge (on Rt. 422) and back again. In October of 1909 according to the
newspaper both Charles and their daughter Esther suffered from typhoid
5. Esther May Boyd, born 9
Sept 1900 in an old house on her grandparent’s farm. As an infant, she
was frequently held by her Grandmother Crocker, who was ill with tuberculosis.
Grandmother Crocker died from the disease when Esther was two years old
and it was shortly after that it was discovered that Ester had tuberculosis
of the bone near the base of her thumb. The local physician felt that the
only treatment was to amputate her thumb to prevent the spread of the disease
to other areas, however, Esther’s parents heard of another physician, a
young man, with more advanced knowledge in medicine in Madison, OH.
They took her there to be seen and he decided to scrape the bone and saved
her thumb. She always had a scar but had full use of her thumb. Esther
attended school in Warren, OH and graduated from Warren High School. Esther’s
mother always kept her dressed in the latest fashion with clothes that
she made. Esther remembered when she was little, coming down the
