WILL of WILLIAM BOYD of PERRY CO. PA 1830
(Affirmed the 13 day of July 1830)
In the name of God, Amen.
I, William BOYD of Saville Township in the
county of Perry and the state
of Pennsylvania, being very weak in the
body but of sound mind, memory,
and understanding, blessed be God for
the same, do make &
publish this my last will and testament in manner
and form following to wit:
Principally and first of all
I command my immortal soul into the hands
of God, who gave it
and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent
and Christian burial
like manner at the discretion of my executors
herein after named
and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath
pleased God to bless me in
this life. I give & dispose of the same in
the following matter to wit:
I will bequeath
and devise unto my daughter Mary SCRAGGS the sum of
one hundred dollars
to be paid to her or her heirs within one year
after my decease by my executors
herein after named.
I will bequeath
and devise to the children of my son Hugh BOYD and
said unto the children of
my son Mathews BOYD and unto the children of
my son-in-law
William HERSHE who was intermarried with my daughter
Jane deceased, and unto each
of my grandchildren by my daughter Sarah,
deceased, who was intermarried
with Samuel McKINSEY, one Bible to be
delivered to each of them
by my executor herein after named within one
year after my decease.
I will bequeath and devise
unto my son Gowdy BOYD, my plantation where
I reside in the
Township of Saville & Tyrone in the county of Perry
bounded by adjoining lands
of the heirs of John NELSON deceased, John
SWAGEN land and the land of
Adam MARRICLE, John MILLER Junior and land
of the heirs of Meredith DARLINTON,
deceased and others containing one
hundred and eighty acres and
allowance of Sinperant (?). Yea to him my
said son Gowdy
BOYD his heirs and assigns forever subject never the
less they would devises heretofor
made by me in this last will & test-
ament and a last subject
to the case maintenance clothing and support
of my daughter Margaret who
is now chargeable and in joining upon him
my said son, Gowdy BOYD
or his heirs as he or they may value this
blessing to take care of her
my said daughter, Margaret in a way suit-
able to her forlorn &
unfortunate condition & during her natural life.
And as touching all the rest
residue of my estate either real or per-
sonal of whats own kind a
nature I own the same may be or who is hand
or hands so was
the same may be found in the township of Saville and
the county of Perry aforesaid
or also where I will bequeath and devise
unto my said son Gowdy BOYD,
his heirs and assigns forever.
And lastly I nominate
consitute and appoint my said son, Gowdy BOYD
and my trusty friend,
John OWENS of Wheatfield Township in the county
of Perry aforesaid to be the
executors of this last will and testament
hereby revoking
all former will or wills bequeth by me herefor made
and declaring this and
no other to be my last will and testament. In
witness whereof
I have here unto my hand & seal the eleventh day of
June in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred & twenty nine.
