Amanda J. Boyd 1852 - died
before mother in 1895. (unknown if married
but was age 18 in last census
I found of her)
Do not know Who Robert's parents
or siblings were. Shortly after their
marriage in 1830 they went
to Putnam Co., IN.
In an old article written about
the son James Patton Boyd..it says that
"James Boyd's great grandfather
was John Calvin Boyd (a Calvinist
minister in Ireland who was
named for the Calvinist movement, a
forerunner of the Presbyterian
religion) Samuel Boyd, his son, as born
in New York City a few weeks
after the parents arrived from Ireland.
Robert Calvin Boyd was born
in Ohio, and James Patton was born in
Indiana. Margaret Jane
Taylor Boyd (James' mother) was a first cousin
to Zachary Taylor, general
and hero of the Mexican War and later a
United States President."
Note: All census records
show Robert Calvin born in KY...wife in OH.
She may have been a cousin
of Zachary Taylor, but doubtful a first
cousin. The information
for the article was given by Robert's
grandchildren, who probably
did not know him, so can't vouch for any of
the information. Other
papers say that Margaret was of the KY
Taylor's...so ??????
Any information would be appreciated.
