Was born Chester Newton ROAN. Family changed name while young.
Chester , Nancy and their triplet daughters are buried at Butler Cemetery in Rockledge Community, Alabama.
Their sons Dylmuss and Eulice are buried at Noble Hill cemetery Etowah County, AL.
Chester was a farmer, a carpenter and a mechanic. He and Nancy lived most of their life in Etowah County, Alabama. They were married 53 years. Chester owned 120 acres near Copeland Gap when he was farming. Which he bought from his father.
A lot of family lived near him then. They built their last house in 1946 in Rockledge Community on the west side of Highway 431 about 1/2 a mile north from the edge of Sand Mountain. After returning from WWII their son George also built a house on ajoining property.
Nancy was a housewife all her life except for a short stint at Dwight Mfg. Company (Cotton Mill) in Alabama City, Alabama in 1943/44. Nancy's triplet daughters are believed to have died of the Hives. One was still born and the others lived a few days. While pregnant Nancy was kicked in the back by a cow in the pasture. The next day she became very ill. This may have attributed to the triplets deaths. They were born 4 Dec 1941. Their deaths were recorded as 13 Dec 1941.
