{} To all to whom these presents shall come I Barbary Smith of the State and district afore sd. do send greeting Know ye that I the sd. Barbary Smith Spinner for and in consideration of the natural Love tender affection and free good will which I have bear unto my loving children hereafter named hath granted and confirm unto my children now named 1st Polly Kirby the wife of Archibald Kirby and her children forever One hundred acres of land the sd. lying and being on the No. East Side of Catfish Swamp and being half of a tract of land which I the sc. Barbara Smith bought from William Johnson containing Two hundred acres Also one Mulatto man slave named Bob 2d to my daughter Thruley Whittington the wife of Grief Whittington and to her children forever I give One hundred acres of land lying on Catfish Swamp it being the South part of a tract of land which I the said Barbary Smith bought from William Johnson containing Two hundred acres where I now live also one negro man named Jack in witness whereunto I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of March one thousand Eight hundred and Three in the Twenty Seventh year of America's Independancy.
