"James Odell of Newberry County in the State of South
Carolina of the one part and John Odell Jr. of the state and
county aforesaid of the other, winesseth: That the said James Odell
for and in consideration of his the said John Odells right in the
real estate of his father John Odell of Newberry County, now
deceased, hath granted, bargained and sold... 136 acres of land being part
of a tract of 310 acres bounded by Joseph Duckett land, by heirs
of John Odell, deceased, by Basil Robinson and James Duncan
and Baruch Duncan which was granted to the said James Odell
and Joseph Duckett in partnership on March 3, 1794 and is divided
from Joseph Duckett part by a line..." /s/ James Odell,
in the presence of Joel Whitten, Henry Hill and John Pearson.

James Odell, Adm. and Eleanor Odell, Administrtix of Estate
of John Odell, late of Newberry Co., S.C., of the one part
and Joel and Sarah Whitten (she being the daughter of the said John
Odell, dec'd and one of his heirs at law) of the other part... Said
dministration in compliance with the will of deceased, have granted, given,
etc., unto said Joel and Sarah Whitten a plantation and tract of
66 acres of land... lying partly in Laurens Co., and partly in Newberry
Co., S.C. ... adjoining land laid out to said Joel Whitten, it
being part of a tract of 500 acres granted John Odell on Aug. 1,

their son Eli Odell... 200 acres of Odell's Branch, near Odell's

...this indenture... between Eleanor Odell, Administratix of the
Estate of John Odell, deceased of Newberry District and State
of S.C., on the one part and Thomas Hendricks and Martha,
his wife, she being one of the daughters of the said John Odell deceased
and one of the heirs at law of the other part... the said Administatix in
compliance with the will and desire of the said deceased have given, ganted
and by these presents doth give, (etc.) unto the said Thomas Hendricks
and Martha his wife... the 66 acres in Laurens District, South
Carolina being part of a tract of land originally granted to John
Odell, deceased containing 500 acres, August 1, 1785... (surveylines
given)... bounded by Williams land, Glenns land..." /s/
