Will

In the Name of God Amen. I George Langford of the State of North Carolina and county of Warren am weak and sick but sound in mind and memory. Praised be God do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form followingViz.

First and Principally I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it, hoping through the meritorious Death of Jesus Christ my Saviour, to receive free pardon for all my sins past and ask for my body to be buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter nominated.

Item My will is that I leave all this tract of land whereon I now live to be equally divided among my four sons John, George, Herby and Joel Langford to them and their heirs forever and my will is that my son John Langford to take care of his mother during her natural life. My will further is that if any of my sons should die before they come of age or marriage, then his or their parts to be equally divided among my surviving sons.

Item I give to my daughter Delilah one feather bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. My will further is that after my son Joel arrives to the age of twenty one years then my personal estate to be sold and equally divided among my wife and all my children.

I appoint my dear wife and my son John Langford executors of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling and making void all other wills and testaments before made. I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty
