We have identified two COLE families of Weakley, TN.

A. COLE appeared on the 1850 census for Weakley County. Age 41, born in NC, with Elizabeth COLE, age 60, also b. in NC. This may be the Andrew COLE whose will was filed in Weakley Co. in 1888.

Andrew COLE's will was filed in Weakley County on May 11, 1888. It listed "nine Grand Children by the first wife of my Son William A. Cole. Their names being as follows, John A. Cole, Evairah* E. Harper the wife of Chas. Harper, Julia I. Tidwell the wife of Jason Tidwell, Moses H. Cole, Harriett C. Smith wife of James Smith, William M. Cole, J. B. Cole, L. F. Cole, Martha S. Cole". * Dorothy Grisham, who transcribed this material, noted the spelling of this name as "not sure".

C. T. COLE appeared on the 1850 census for Weakley Co., TN. Age 44, born in NC, with Prudence COLE, age 34, also born in NC and Lucy, age 9.

JOHN E. COLE, son of JOSEPH BENJAMIN COLE, [see Obion Co. Page] and grandson of SAMUEL COLE [see Hickman Co., KY Page] was born August 11, 1882 in TN, and died April 24, 1970 in Kentucky. He married (1) MAUDE BYNUM October 09, 1901 in Weakley Co. TN. He married (2) MOLLIE PAYNE 1917. He married (3) LEXIE BENNETT 1960, daughter of ALEXANDER BENNETT and MARY BOYD.

N.O.R. COLE appeared on the 1850 census for Weakley Co., TN. Age 61, born in NC, with Martha COLE, age 52, also born in NC, Martha, age 15, Sarah, age 13, and A. COOK, age 24.

ROBERT C. COLE, son of Samuel COLE [see Hickman Co., KY page] was born April 20, 1826 in Tennessee, and died September 02, 1909 in Hamilton County, TX. He married ELIZA ANN BALDWIN March 05, 1846 in Henry County, TN, daughter of MOSES BALDWIN and ELIZA KILLINGSWORTH.Children of ROBERT COLE and ELIZA BALDWIN are:

W. A. COLE appeared on the 1850 census for Weakley Co., TN. Age 25, born in NC, with Sarah COLE, age 22, born in TN, John, age 4, Eudora, age 3, and Julia, age 1. There is enough similarity in names to suggest that this might be the William A. COLE named in the will of Andrew COLE filed in Weakley Co. in 1888.

William A. COLE had at least nine children by his first wife. We know this because they were listed in his father's will. Their names: John A. Cole, Evairah* E. Harper the wife of Chas.
